Just a few tipz to help you get back to the basics of healthy hair and scalps.
Healthy hair can be easily maintained and obtained with basic daily care but it needs to be cared for, make time to care for your hair. It seems like we have gotten away from then ole school way of doing our hair, brushing hair, trimming and oiling the scalp. These are things that our grandmothers, aunties and mothers did. They had thick long hair and edges, yes edges. Those afros were big, thick and healthy or it was pressed Barbie doll straight but it was healthy. At any rate we had to sit down and get our hair done. Not saying they don’t know what there doing. Nowadays everyone is so busy they drop the kids at the beauty salon or barber some stay and get services themselves. no more kitchen dos. I miss the girl talks and the great times mom and I had while she was doing my sister’s and I hair, thank God there were only two of us it was a all day process for us. You just got to take the time to do some hair care in between the shops. Mom always took time to shampoo deep condition(2-3x month) trim or singe our hair and ends (every other month) she greased our scalps and brushed our hair every Saturday. We also got our hair combed daily. She also mixed greases together or lotion to make our hair lay down…Didn’t know then but know now basic ways to grow healthy long strong hair. Who would of thought she was grooming my future….
Ok just a few tipz I learned along the way hopefully it will help you with your journey. Brushing your hair stimulates the scalp and loosens debris of the day to help with product build up. After shampooing hair add a leave in conditioner blow dry hair on low this adds volume. Moisture, conditioning and protein are keys to healthy hair, also keep ends trimmed every 4-6 weeks it does help to keep the dead ends off and keeps it healthy. Do not brush your hair wet it is weak then and breaks easily. Keep in mind pulling or tugging adds stress to your hair like buns pulled back or up. its ok to let your hair down and get some rest. Let it all hang out air drying is great, switch it up to let your scalp have some relief.
